The Office of Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice honors and celebrates LGBTQIA+ Pride Month 2021.
The fight for LGBTQIA+ rights is the fight for human rights and the dignity to live authentically, whole, and free. Inextricably intertwined with the various human and civil rights movements throughout United States history, and at once standing proudly on its own to lead the way for human progress, the LGBTQIA+ movement for human rights demands visibility, representation, and inclusion.
While it is impossible to tell the story of the entire rights movement in a single missive or event, we recognize the power of the personal narrative of members of the LGBTQIA+ to profoundly document the collective present, authenticate the expanse of history, and to chart the course to true inclusion and social justice.
We therefore invite you to join us to witness and celebrate the journeys of two incredible history makers.
