This is a draft introduction to the book manuscript by Amiel Bize (Assistant Professor, Anthropology, Cornell University) entitled The Post-Agrarian Question. It sets up the book’s focus on rural areas in the aftermath of capitalist development and outlines three key mechanisms for making value in post-agrarian rural spaces: rent, remainder, and reproduction.
