Parsons School of Design is pleased to host a special screening of the urban planning classic film, The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces. The screening will be introduced by Spencer Williams, Director of Advocacy at the Municipal Art Society.
This 1979 documentary by William “Holly” Whyte, follows a small group of observers that set out to explore how people use parks, plazas and public spaces in New York City, and follows the team's methods, observation and analysis. The film was produced by the Municipal Art Society of New York in conjunction with The Street Life Project.
