What does it take to succeed in digital journalism and media? Adjunct faculty member Lauren Moraski, who’s also Amazon Music’s Senior Audio Content Manager, will explore this and other topics with Hillary Frey – the former top editor of HuffPost who now leads Slate, one of digital media’s longest running and most highly regarded sites.
This session is open to all students who want to learn how digital journalism is adapting to the rapid changes in technology and audience expectations, as well as practical tips that can give you an edge in entering this competitive field.

Previously, she was Executive Editor of HuffPost; Editorial Director of News at NBC News; Media and Culture Editor at the New York Observer, and early in her career served as Editor at the Nation and Lingua Franca magazines. Hillary is a graduate of the Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership at the Newmark School of Journalism at City University of New York and a Brooklyn resident
Lauren Moraski is currently Senior Audio Content Manager at Amazon Music and teaches part-time at The New School’s media management graduate program. Previous roles included work at HuffPost, CBSNews.com and Reuters, among other media outlets. Lauren attended undergrad at the University of Virginia, earned a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, as well as a master’s in media management at The New School.
