Experience the hit podcast series Slow Burn live at The New School.
You’ll see host Joel Anderson perform an all-new Slow Burn story, one that illuminates the creative lives and tragic deaths of Tupac Shakur and Christopher “Biggie” Wallace.
Anderson will talk with Brooklyn producer Easy Mo Bee on maintaining working relationships with both Biggie and Tupac until the rising East Coast-West Coast conflict made it virtually impossible. Next, he will speak with Rev. Conrad Tillard. Formerly Conrad Muhammad, Tillard once lead the Nation of Islam’s mosque in Harlem, and was known in the 90s as the “Hip Hop Minister” for his work with rap celebrities brokering peace in the community.
Nasheim Myrick was one of the original members of the production team for Bad Boy Records known as The Hitmen. Joel will talk with Myrick about working with Biggie and the atmosphere around Bad Boy during the East Coast-West Coast rap conflict.
Then Anderson and Slow Burn producer Christopher Johnson will be on the hot seat as ESPN’s sports journalist Bomani Jones grills them about the making of this season of Slow Burn.
Musical selections will be played by DJ Donwill.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for the live show.
