About Seunghyuk Na:Â
After his debut at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Seunghyuk Na gained further international attention with his 2nd Prize at the New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition. A graduate of Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, he received his bachelor’s degree from Seoul National University and his master’s degree from Universität Mozarteum Salzburg.
Along with his appearance as a solo finalist in the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition, he has received numerous awards in major competitions, including the Grand Prize at the Sung Jung Music Competition, 1st Prize at the Eumyoun Competition and the Segye Music Competition, and a Special Prize at the Asia Pacific International Chopin Piano Competition. Additional honors include 6th Prize at the Tbilisi International Piano Competition, 2nd Prize at the Korean Piano Open Competition, 2nd Prize at the Suzhou Jinji Lake International Piano Competition, and 3rd Prize at the Rina Sala Gallo International Piano Competition. He was also awarded 1st Prize at the Mannes Summer Piano Festival Competition and 2nd Prize at the New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition.
He has performed at numerous distinguished venues, including Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Salle Cortot, Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Art Hall, Palazzo Usellini, Villa Reale, Teatro Manzoni, Conservatorio di Bolzano, the Embassy of Latvia in Berlin, Tbilisi State Conservatoire, and Music Hall Dubai. He was also invited to Paris by Marian Rybicki and performed at Salle Cortot and the Bibliothèque Polonaise de Paris. In addition, he has appeared with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Symphony Orchestra of Milan Giuseppe Verdi, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and Daegu Symphony Orchestra.
Additionally, he studied with Pavel Gililov during his master’s degree, and with Hyoung Joon Chang and Aviram Reichert during his bachelor’s degree. His previous teachers include Choong Mo Kang and Sae Kyung Park, and he has also worked closely with John O'Conor, Miroslav Kultyshev, Pavel Nersessian, Claudio MartÃnez Mehner, Enrico Pace, Maxim Mogilevsky, Soo Jung Shin, Kyung Sook Lee, and Hae Sun Paik.
