Parsons Alumna Antonia Peón-Veiga will be visiting from Chile, a description of her presentation: Drawing Light explores techniques for representing light across various mediums, guided by the question of how we communicate lighting design. The research premise is that we can analyze these design operations as experiences based on time and space parameters, which in turn creates a range of possibilities

that must be adjusted with each decision we make. Part of this exploratory work involved studying different illustrations — originating from varied sources and motivations— that, when broken down to their internal structure, offer renewed ways to approach drawing a lighting concept. In the end, only the certainty of openness remains: this book is merely a first attempt at systematizing a graphic problem with infinite references and possibilities, which continue to be open and in progress. Most of the content of this book corresponds to the thesis written by 

Antonia to access the title of Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from 

Parsons in 2010.
