Lang's First Year Experience Program is launching a new event series this Spring semester designed to help new and undeclared students navigate Lang's curricular landscape. The series is titled HOW I DECIDED ..., and will consist of a set of informal panel discussions with faculty from across the disciplines, during which they will be asked to describe the pathways through which they arrived at their field of study and the lines of intellectual/creative inquiry that orient their work. The ultimate purpose of the HOW I DECIDED ... conversation series is to provide a space in which first and second year students can learn about their faculty's unique (inter)disciplinary trajectories and, in so doing, come to a richer, and perhaps more human(e), understanding of the major selection process and academic life more generally.
