Professors Julia Foulkes and Mark Larrimore are co-authors of Realizing The New School: Lessons from the Past. In a special presentation Julia and Mark will share their favorite aspects of this incredible institution and its many unexpected connections with the most important social and artistic movements in our society.
Julia Foulkes investigates interdisciplinary questions about the arts, urban studies, and history in her research and teaching. As a recent fellow at the Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library, she focused on her forthcoming book, Culture City: The Rise of the Arts in New York.

Participants will learn the basics of needle felting and create a small take-home project—perfect as a reunion keepsake!

Moderated by Priyanka Sen Kundu (AAS Fashion Marketing ’07), this panel will feature insights from a diverse group of New School alumni who have successfully navigated the world of brand creation and growth.
Priyanka Sen Kundu is a product leader, entrepreneur, and consultant with more than 15 years’ experience leading global multidisciplinary teams in developing and executing product strategy in the fashion/luxury industry. Her portfolio includes product launches, brand transformation, global operational expansion, product styling, and special projects. She draws on her broad experience in design, development, production, merchandising, and marketing to achieve and surpass business goals.
Dr. Talib Hudson is a community-based scholar and advocate who is driven to promote public policy for the advancement of metropolitan Black communities. He launched The New Hood, a community-based think tank at the Center for New York City Affairs. His grassroots community work began with Street Corner Resources, a community-based organization in Harlem.
Drawing inspiration from her Miami roots and Trinidadian heritage and merging New York and Miami Art Deco, Liselle creates her vibrant, elegant designs in Brooklyn. She is dedicated to women's empowerment and is the author of the book The Millennial Woman: Conquer Thy Queendom, a guide for women entrepreneurs striving to achieve their dreams and goals.
Alex Levin is a business strategist, brand designer, and entrepreneur based in New York City. In 2012, after graduating from Parsons School of Design with a BBA in Design and Management, he founded L+R with his freshman-year roommate.
L+R is an international technology design studio and strategy consulting firm supporting Fortune 500 organizations and small businesses by integrating the design process and building digital technologies. Industry recognition for L+R includes a Red Dot Award, two Webby Awards, and placement on the Clutch 1000 list.
Austin is an associate attorney in Pearl Cohen’s New York office and a member of the U.S. Corporate Practice Group. He advises start-ups and emerging growth companies, particularly in the United States and Israel, guiding them from formation to exit. Additionally, he provides counsel to strategic investors and venture capital funds in corporate finance transactions and represents buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions.
Samantha is the co-founder and managing member of the private equity firm Eight Pillars Capital, which focuses on late stage consumer buyout investments. Eight Pillars Capital s uses active deal sourcing, employing an algorithmic sourcing strategy that the team developed to identify quality and proprietary investments at inception. Samantha was previously a founding member of Ouroboros Group. Earlier Samantha was on the investment team at Generation Equity Capital and was active in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities as well as developing investment theses across various sectors.
Jeffrey Men is the creator of Fancy Teddy, the only handmade sustainable art toy stuffed with healing crystals. As a first generation Asian American, wellness enthusiast, and toy collector, Jeffrey is bridging the gap between the worlds of designer toys and wellness, emphasizing the need to heal our inner child through storytelling and embracing the fact that we are all one of a kind. Fancy Teddy can currently be seen at the Orange County Museum of Art and has been featured in Forbes, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone.
Moderated by Luca DiFabio, BS Liberal Arts '18, this panel of New School alumni in creative industries will showcase unexpected career paths, maintaining a creative practice, and what employers are seeking today.
Luca is an innovative thinker and visionary creative director with proven success in conceptualizing and implementing transformative creative strategies, driving substantial organizational growth and brand elevation. Skilled in leading cross-functional teams, exceeding client expectations through brand storytelling and content development, he has orchestrated integrated campaigns encompassing print, broadcast, social media, and retail.
Emmy Briggs knows we're going to die someday, and she won’t waste time making work that takes that for granted. This belief has taken her from creating in backyards of Brooklyn to serving global brands like Google and YouTube. In the past year, she has collaborated with artists such as Chris Stapleton, Robert Rodriguez, and produced a sold-out concert dedicated to Elliott Smith. She now serves as Producer and Director of Distribution at Dangerous Company, an independent film studio redefining how audiences experience the media that moves them.
Join Priya Ramakrishnan (MS Media Management ’17) for a forward-looking conversation on the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, creative content, and media strategy. Drawing from her dynamic career spanning global startups, agencies, and tech giants like Twitter and Meta, Priya will explore how AI is revolutionizing the media landscape.
Priya is a seasoned media & marketing strategist currently serving as a Global Marketing Technology Manager at Uber, NYC. Her dynamic creative career spans impactful roles at Twitter, GroupM and Meta, reflecting her expertise in leveraging performance-centric strategies and data-driven storytelling to connect brands with audiences.
Beyond the Ninth Floor is a presentation of original works, collaboratively created by School of Drama alumni and students. The showcase will feature three new short plays, written and rehearsed over the past month by playwrights, directors, actors, and interdisciplinary artists who have come through The New School’s BFA Dramatic Arts program. The performance will be approximately one hour, followed by a reception to reunite past classmates, introduce future collaborators, and strengthen the connections of our alumni community.
Beyond the Ninth Floor originated as the capstone project of alum and producer Hannah Marie Pederson BFA Dramatic Arts ‘23, MA Arts Management and Entrepreneurship ‘24. For her work on her capstone project, Hannah was awarded the 2025 Alsop Entrepreneurship Award.
