Join us for a reading with Simone Gorrindo as she sits down with Creative Writing faculty member Alexandra Shelley to discuss her memoir, The Wives, published this week by Scout Press. Gorrindo, a New School alumna, and Shelley, an editor of the book, will discuss the process of revision and publication, and the challenges of writing a memoir rooted in her current family community –- a story which Booklist called “[A] gorgeously rendered peek behind the curtain of military life” and Publishers Weekly "A haunting, beautifully written celebration of found sisterhood."
Simone Gorrindo's writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York magazine, Longreads, Los Angeles Review of Books, The Christian Science Monitor, The Best Women’s Travel Writing, SELF, and others. She lives in Tacoma, Washington with her husband and two children.
