The talk will explore the fast evolving methods of digital forensics in the area of mass atrocity crimes. The presentation will follow the logic of an evidentiary lifecycle: collection, interpretation, presentation, and remembrance, and will engage with both processing in its computational / material sense as well as the emotional processing that accompanies such practices.

SITU Research is a visual investigations practice developing new forms of fact-finding to cut through digital noise and amplify truth.
Working together as a group of designers, urbanists, computer scientists, and analysts, they synthesize disparate forms of digital evidence to provide exhaustive, factual accounts of contested events.
Their efforts are focused on human rights, environmental justice, policing, and civil liberties.
Space is limited to 30 student participants.
Presented by the Julien J. Studley Graduate Programs in International Affairs and SITU Research, at the Schools of Public Engagement.
Effective February 23, 2023, event guests and/or visitors to the New School are no longer required to provide proof of up-to-date vaccination or negative result from a PCR test and do not need to use the CLEAR app to present their vaccination status.Â
Wearing a mask is recommended but not required on campus.
