Parsons Paris Commencement 2025

The 2025 Parsons Paris Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Le Grand Rex. The ceremony will be start at 11 a.m. CEST, and will be followed by a celebratory toast. We look forward to seeing our graduates and their guests to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2025 at this important milestone!

When and where is the Parsons Paris 2025 commencement ceremony taking place?

The ceremony is scheduled to be held at Le Grand Rex (1 Bd Poissonnière, 75002 Paris) on May 23rd at 11am.

The closest metro is Bonne Nouvelle which is on both lines 8 and 9.

The bus stop Poissonnière-Bonne Nouvelle is on lines 20 and 32.

Can I bring my own food and beverages to the commencement ceremony?

You may not bring in any outside food or beverages into the venue.

How do I obtain tickets for the commencement ceremony?

Ticket information is communicated directly to graduating students and their guests. Guests should verify their party with an attendant at the ceremony.

Who can I bring to the commencement ceremony?

Graduates are welcome to bring family members, friends, and guests to the commencement ceremony. The number of guests allowed per graduate is determined based on capacity constraints, and we cannot accommodate additional guests beyond this limit. Only guests who attend the ceremony are invited to the toast.

Can I bring my pet to the ceremony?

While we love animals, pets are not allowed at the ceremony. We want to ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees, and the presence of pets can be disruptive. Thank you for your understanding.

What should I bring with me on the day of?

Your cap with tassel, gown, hood and stole. Official regalia is required for all graduating students participating in the Commencement ceremony. Wear comfortable shoes. There are stairs to the stage. You will be on your feet during robing and lineup, so be sure to wear shoes that allow you to get through the ceremony comfortably.

What color gown will I have and can I keep it?

Gown colors are determined by your level of studies.

At Parsons, Bachelor gowns are red and Masters gowns are black.

The velvet color of your hood represents your Academic Degree and the satin is Parsons’ school color. Hood colors are the same for all American universities.

BBA = Drab (beige)

BFA = Brown

MA = White

MFA = Brown

The white stole has The New School logo in black on one side as well as the additional Parsons Paris logo in red on the other.

You do not pay for your regalia and you may take all of it home with you.

Will I be able to change at the venue?

Yes, there are backstage rooms at Le Grand Rex where you will be able to change and leave your belongings.

What do I do as a graduating student if I am unwell on the day of the ceremony?

Anyone who feels too unwell to attend the event should stay home. Graduates should contact Student Success if you are unable to attend the ceremony.

Can I bring my own food and beverages to the commencement ceremony?

You may not bring in any outside food or beverages into the venue.

Can I bring personal belongings into the venue during the commencement ceremony?

Guests are advised to travel lightly. We are not responsible for any lost items you may bring. Bags, large backpacks may be subject to inspection by security at the venue upon entry.

Are any items prohibited at the venue?

Le Grand Rex is a public venue. Please adhere to policies that would apply if you were entering a museum or theater performance.

Any projectiles or objects that could constitute a weapon or pose a risk to public safety along with alcoholic beverages and illicit drugs are strictly forbidden.

No plastic or glass bottles will be allowed into the premises. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the venue.

You may not bring in any outside food or beverages into the venue.

Do not bring noise-makers (such as whistles, horns, bells), confetti, silly string or signs, which may disrupt the ceremony.

Animals, excluding service animals, are not allowed.

Will there be a photographer and/or videography available during the commencement ceremony?

Parsons Paris will be documenting the commencement ceremony but graduates and guests are welcome to take as many photos and videos as they wish!

Will the commencement ceremony be live streamed for those unable to attend in person?

No, the events will not be live streamed this year, but guests are encouraged to take recordings during the ceremony to share with loved ones who are unable to attend in person.

Is there a parking lot nearby?

Paid parking is available at The Atrium 5-7 rue du Fbg Poissonnière 75009 Paris Tél : 01 42 46 67 25.

Is there a cloakroom? Is luggage allowed ? May I bring my helmet?

There is no cloakroom. For security reasons, luggage is not permitted. Helmets are permitted.

Is there wheelchair access to the building? If I am in a wheelchair, where will I be able to sit?

The seating is on the ground floor so you will easily access the auditorium.

A reserved area for wheelchairs near an emergency exit is pre-defined by the venue.
