Please join Professor Jeremy Varon and Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) attorney Pardiss Kebriaei to discuss the history of resistance to the post-9/11 “War on Terror” and how it relates to the present moment.
Jeremy Varon is a Professor of History at the New School and member of Witness Against Torture. He will discuss his new book on the antiwar movement of the early 2000s, highlighting opposition to the Iraq War and the U.S. torture camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Pardiss Kebriaei is a senior staff attorney at CCR, who has defended clients at Guantanamo and the families of victims of U.S. drone strikes. She will discuss CCR’s anti-“War on Terror” litigation and today’s defense of migrants and political dissidents.
