ABOUT
The New Screen Fest is a student-run film festival that supports the voices and talent of emerging student filmmakers. The event will take place on May 11th 2024, at DCTV, screening over 30 short films. New Screen Fest will include a diverse range of genres including narrative,
documentary, experimental and animation, along with conversations from exciting guest speakers ranging from industry icons to notable alumni.
FESTIVITIES & HIGHLIGHTS
Last year, Associate Producer at The New Yorker and filmmaker Devon Blackwell returned to her Alma Mater for a special panel where she talked about her newest project, and gave advice for young creatives. Refreshments were served, thanks to local vegan restaurants. We presented audience awards and held a raffle with prizes from BRIC Arts and Adobe. An estimated 300 guests are expected to attend!
SOCIAL MEDIA @thenewscreenfest
We have the ability to communicate to an engaged audience through social media publicity, local news press, a network of notable alumni and good-old fashioned word of mouth to not only promote our festival, but also amplify the resources that our student body utilizes to create exceptional bodies of work.
