The Multispecies Lab Ideas Festival continues the mission of the multispecies lab by bringing together faculty and students from across The New School alongside practitioners from beyond the university, forming a shared space of inquiry that explores less human-centric ways of engaging in our professions, practices, and institutions. 

The three-day conference explores multispecies entanglement through talks, walks, performances, listenings, and material practices considering how we can learn, create, and coexist differently in a multispecies world.

Day 1: Attuning to Multispecies Worlds
Day 2: Methods for Multispecies Research
Day 3: Living in Multispecies Futures

With opening keynote by Stacy Alaimo and an evening conversation with Suzanne Simard and Zoë Schlanger at Pioneer Works, the festival brings together voices working across disciplines and scales.

Movement based performances such as Seed: A Performative Ritual Toward Decentering, by Yana Schnitzler HUMAN KINETICS, and Luminous Structure: A Participatory Multispecies Performance by andrea haenggi and urban moss, are joined by curated sound works, art sessions with ecologists and artists.
