How are migrant children and families navigating New York City’s public education system—and what barriers stand in their way?
Join Equity for Children and the Center for New York City Affairs for a timely conversation on educational inequalities affecting Latin migrant families in New York City. This event will present new research funded by the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility, along with data from InsideSchools, offering an in-depth look at how these families experience school enrollment, language access, social services, and integration into NYC’s Department of Education (DOE) system.
Expect engaging dialogue with researchers and practitioners, including:
-Alberto Minujin, Principal Investigator, Associate Professor, and Executive Director of Equity for Children
-Kristin Morse, Director of The Center for New York City Affairs
-Natasha Quiroga, Director of Education Policy at InsideSchools, Center for New York City Affairs
-Stephanie Rodriguez Ugolotti, Anthropology Graduate Student and Research Assistant
-Columba González-Duarte, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at The New School for Social Research
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to meaningful change in how our city supports migrant children and their right to a quality education.
