Serving as the grand finale of the Mannes Sounds Festival at Carnegie Hall, this program offers a vibrant and wide-ranging celebration of artistry, collaboration, and musical storytelling, featuring Mannes students, and special guests. It opens with Arcady Dubensky’s Suite for Nine Flutes, a dazzling showcase of ensemble color, followed by the poetic lyricism of Franz Schubert’s songs and the heightened drama of Hugo Wolf. Virtuosic brilliance shines in piano works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Franz Liszt, alongside a contemporary homage by MartÃn GarcÃa GarcÃa. After intermission, Lowell Liebermann’s Piano Trio No. 1 brings sweeping lyricism and energy. The program concludes with evocative modern works by Volodymyr Skuratovsky and Kenji Bunch, creating a compelling dialogue across eras to close the festival in grand style.
