Join us for an exclusive screening of Made in Ethiopia, an award-winning documentary film that has ignited global conversations about industrialization, globalization, and the human stories behind China’s growing influence in Africa.

Premiering at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and acclaimed by Variety, The Guardian and Financial Times, Made in Ethiopia follows three women - a Chinese businesswoman, an Ethiopian factory worker and a farmer - as a massive Chinese factory complex attempts a high-stakes expansion in rural Ethiopia. Betting their futures on the promise of industrialization, they find themselves at a pivotal crossroads as initial hope meets painful realities.

The screening will start promptly at 12pm, followed by a Q & A discussion with the film directors, moderated by Prof. Ying Chen.
