The New School's Creative Writing Program curates a series of forums and special events throughout the academic year, featuring new and established writers. The forums in Poetry, Fiction, Nonfiction, and Writing for Children & YA, explore work from a writerly perspective, featuring a reading, a moderated discussion, and a Q&A with the audience. The program also hosts a variety of literary events in partnership with organizations like The National Book Foundation, the National Book Critics Circle, Cave Canem, and Kundiman.
Keisha Bush, the author of No Heaven For Good Boys, was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. She received her MFA in creative writing from The New School, where she was a Riggio Honors Teaching Fellow, and recipient of an NSPE Dean’s Scholarship. After a career in corporate finance and international development that brought her to live in Dakar, Senegal, she decided to focus full-time on her writing.
A.E. Osworth is a transgender novelist. Their first book, We Are Watching Eliza Bright, about a game developer dealing with harassment (and narrated collectively by a fictional subreddit), was published by Grand Central Publishing (April 2021). They have an eight-year freelance career and you can find their work on Autostraddle, Guernica, Catapult, Electric Lit, Paper Darts, Mashable, and drDoctor, among others.
