John Coltrane lecture with Yasuhiro Fujioka
Fuji, who has written four books on Coltrane, will be sharing his insights and discussing Coltrane’s music and history
About Yasuhiro Fujioka:
Fujioka has been serving on Board of The Coltrane Home Dix Hills, NY where John had been living three years - '64 through '67 - and composed his masterpiece "A Love Supreme" in 1964. He is a freelance jazz journalist and Coltrane authority, and a contributor for Japanese magazines Jazz In (formerly Swing Journal established 1946,) Jazz Critique, Record Collectors and many others since 1987.
He is the also the president of “Coltrane House of Osaka”, Kimono shop “Fujioka.”
Fujioka is an author/co-author of four books on the subject of John Coltrane. The John Coltrane Reference, Routledge, NYC 2007 was awarded “The Best Book 2008” by BBC-UK and “The Best Research 2009” by ARSC, USA. Second edition is scheduled in 2026.
