Yu Nong Khew is Assistant Professor at the School of Constructed Environments, The New School and is cofounder of Cyklr Inc., a cleantech company focused on building systems supporting urban composting. She also serves as Design Partner at Studio Khew + Cornelius. Her research focuses on how social and cultural changes interface physically and digitally with the im/material boundaries of the built environment. She has previously taught at Columbia University GSAPP, Singapore University of Technology and Design, in collaboration with MIT and Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Yu Nong has worked with award winning design practices, Zaha Hadid Architecture, and served as Project Director at Asymptote Architecture where she directed numerous projects ranging from a line of smart lighting products to a master plan for a new city in China incorporating interior robotic and smart technologies.
She currently serves as Director of the BFA Interior Design program.
Cotter Christian comes to Parsons from the Hong Kong campus of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Cotter’s professional practice includes five years as an interior project designer at the international design firm, Perkins+Will. His work primarily focused in science and technology, healthcare, and corporate studios on multiple LEED certified projects. He is a member of the organizing committee for Platinum, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable design in Hong Kong that is also a participant in the United States Green Building Council International Roundtable where he organized LEED workshops. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art, with a concentration in Interior Design, from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Set Design from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.
