Please join us as we come together to celebrate and honor the life of Charlie Warner, who passed away last summer. Charlie taught at The New School for over 25 years in Media Studies from 1997 until his death in 2023. He helped design the Media Management curriculum when the program was being launched, and taught courses such as Media Ethics, Media Sales and Managing Innovation in Media. He was an inspirational teacher to students, alums and colleagues.
Charlie was also the Goldenson Chair Emeritus at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where he taught from 1988 to 1998. He was a Vice President of AOL Interactive Marketing from 1998 through 2002, and was the author of the widely used textbook now in its fifth edition: Media Selling: Digital, Television, Print, Audio, and Cross-Platform.
During his tenure at The New School, Charlie mentored countless media students and professionals at various stages in their careers.
