Officially apply to graduate

When you are about to start your final semester to complete your requirements, you must apply to graduate, which will ensure that your degree progress is audited and your degree is conferred on time.

The only way to be on the list for consideration for graduation is to apply. Students who fail to apply forfeit their right to have their degree conferred in the term when applications are closed; they may apply for the next available application term.

🎟️

Register for your College Recognition Ceremony and University Commencement

Your college will host a recognition ceremony, and the university hosts University Commencement.

You must register separately for both.

When you register, you'll also register for your guests.

🎓

Purchase your Cap and Gown

Caps and gowns are required for University Commencement as well as the Lang Recognition Ceremony. For details on remaining opportunities to pick-up or purchase your cap and gown, visit this site.

We look forward to celebrating with your family! The University does not issue invitation letters in support of family and friends of students applying for a tourist visa to the U.S. because embassy officers do not accept letters of invitation from ISSS.

However, we have created a guide to assist you in writing your own, including a letter template.

Please view the Invitation Letter Guide. If you have any questions you can contact ISSS@newschool.edu for additional guidance.
