About Gabriele Strata: 

Gabriele Strata is rapidly gaining international recognition for his poetic sensitivity and commanding technique. Described by Il Sole 24 Ore as “a talent of extraordinary sensitivity and perfect technique,” he is the 2024 Silver Medalist, Audience Prize, and Chamber Music Prize winner at the Concours Musical International de Montréal. He was also awarded First Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2023 Rio de Janeiro International Piano Competition and is a recipient of the prestigious XXXV Premio Venezia. In 2021, Teatro La Fenice honored him with the historic “Una Vita nella Musica – Giovani” prize for artistic excellence.

Gabriele performs regularly in renowned venues across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, including Milan’s Sala Verdi (Società del Quartetto), the Berliner Philharmonie with the Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, Wigmore Hall, the Barbican Centre, Cadogan Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Maison Symphonique in Montréal with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai with the Symphony Orchestra of India. He has collaborated with conductors such as Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli, Xian Zhang, Roberto Tibiriçá, Baldur Brönnimann, Michael Bell, and Hans Richter.

With a repertoire that extends from Baroque to contemporary music, his recent debut at Wigmore Hall was hailed by Crepuscular Musings as “a recital of perfect creativity, securing his place in the uncompromising world of concert halls at only 23 years of age.” The current season includes recital tours across China, Brazil, Japan, and Italy, as well as chamber music debuts at the Berlin Konzerthaus and Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle. His performances are frequently broadcast on Rai Radio 3 and Sky Classica HD.

Gabriele studied in the distinguished piano classes of Boris Berman, Benedetto Lupo, and Ronan O’Hora, earning both his Master of Music and Master of Musical Arts from Yale University by the age of 19. In 2023, he completed the Artist Diploma at the Guildhall School of Music and received his diploma from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with top marks, cum laude, and an honorable mention—an honor awarded to only one other pianist in the Academy’s history.
