Where is fashion design’s place in the art world? Attempting to reflect upon the process behind a collection, the many art forms that lie within. Fertility’s Fragile Being explores the sculptural properties of garments made to start a conversation. The sculptures and garments build the framework of questioning the boundaries between art and fashion design. Do they exist as sculptures? Will a conversation start if the are on the body? Will they need space?
Fertility issues have become more and more present in our lives, yet not a lot of it is dared spoken about. Sharing your issues or battles could bring another sense of ease to the body, allow it to know it is doing its best. And that is enough.

Danish born artist and fashion designer Ida-Simone, explores ideas of the body in different states, through societal issues, bodily issues or social constructs. Her practice moves between sculpture, fashion, textiles and ceramics. She explores the human interaction or reaction to a problem in society through an optimistic lens. With traces of minimalism, she creates bold, playful and sculptural pieces with a strong colorful language. Ida-Simone is now based in Amsterdam where her work is embarking on a new journey through ceramics and textile art as a whole.Â
