Expanded Identities is interested in hearing the personal stories of designers working in postcolonial contexts. Designers and storytellers give a live tour of everyday spaces that influence their expanded design approaches and design story. We are interested in personal stories around identity, race and space, and exchanges between cultures within globalization. We ask: How has your context brought complexity to your personal story as a designer? We hope these talks will inspire our own students to bring their own cultural backgrounds into the foreground, building complexity into their design approaches.
