Design Studio 4 Final Review Exhibit
PGAR 5202, Spring 2023
The focus of this graduate architecture studio is on the adaptive reuse of New York City neighborhoods, blocks and built artifacts for creative and erotic production. Following New York’s financial crisis of the mid-1970s, radically creative ways of life abounded in the non-heteronormative communities of the West and East Village. But after AIDS and gentrification, traces are now hard to find. Our task, in the aftermath of another pandemic, is to identify and design, with emerging queer creative and erotic communities, the collective occupation of underutilized infrastructure and vacant buildings as new models for a non-heteronormative, non-sexist, non-racist and non-capitalist city of the future.
Effective February 23, 2023, event guests and/or visitors to the New School are no longer required to provide proof of up-to-date vaccination or negative result from a PCR test and do not need to use the CLEAR app to present their vaccination status.
Wearing a mask is recommended but not required on campus.
