ELEMENTAL showcases the sixth generation of graduates from the Parsons MFA Textiles program working at the cutting edge of craft and modern technology. Through the tactile language of textiles, the graduates explore sound, gender, the vitality and essence of nature- the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. Seeding meaning, shifting primal forces, and storytelling through weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, embroidering, beading, 3D printing, and biomaterials, the textiles reveal the elements underlying the very fabric of human experience. 

The Parsons MFA Textiles program is a vibrant hub of creativity in New York, where ideas bloom and grow through hands-on textile making. The program is led by Founding Director Preeti Gopinath and Associate Director Anette Millington, who nurture a community of mindful artists and designers. Devoted to promoting authenticity, originality, and innovation, faculty work closely with students to channel the power of textiles to transform art, design, and industry. This interdisciplinary program combines craft and high-tech approaches to address issues of justice, sustainability, beauty, and well-being in the world through textiles.
