ABOUT THE CONVERGENCE
With every passing year, Earth Month takes on added urgency: in 2022, millions of people across the world experienced extreme climate events, persistent environmental crises, and record-breaking temperatures amidst numerous continuing ecological disasters. These mounting climate and environmental crises are intricately intertwined with ever-intensifying social, political, and economic dilemmas for communities to continuously challenge.
Join us Saturday, April 22nd and Sunday, April 23rd from 11:30 AM EST to 6 PM EST in-person at La Plaza Cultural garden or on Zoom for select virtual events.
(More info upon registration, see below.)
WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THIS EVENT?
Designed as a family-friendly community gathering led by BIPOC, queer, and/or organizers, the Earth Month Convergence (EMC):
(A) has been co-created by organizers and activists who are actively creating--Attendees can learn from those currently fighting for land autonomy, defending our human and more-than-human plant and animal relatives, and creating communities of care.
Â
(B) has been developed for the purposes of true sustainability---Attendees can develop the mindsets and tools to build autonomy, self-sufficiency and community in the fight for collective liberation.
(C) has been created with purpose in mind---Attendees can walk away with valuable survival-environmental skills, tangible action steps, and ways to plug into existing organizing homes to directly confront environmental and climate issues in their community and stand in solidarity with interconnected global struggles.
Â

Please attend in-person for the best experience and the opportunity to engage in ALL of the EMC and community events over the weekend.Â
