Christianity's American Fate: How Religion Became More Conservative and Society More Secular:
In this lecture, Professor Hollinger (UC Berkeley) discusses how and why Christianity — a variegated and often progressive force in the United States — has largely been captured by the most politically, culturally, and theologically reactionary Americans.
David A. Hollinger is the Preston Hotchkis Professor of History Emeritus at the University of California. He is a former President of the Organization of American Historians and the author of many books, including Postethnic America (1995, 2000, and 2006), Science, Jews, and Secular Culture (1996), After Cloven Tongues of Fire (2013), and Protestants Abroad (2017).
The Princeton University Press is providing a 30% discounted code to purchase a copy of the book.
