The Critical Perspectives on Democratic Anti-Colonialism project invites you to our second Fall 2021 workshop. The program brings together faculty and students from across The New School interested in exploring the theoretical foundations and political manifestations of radical democratic and anti-colonial traditions.
Â
Our second event features Michael Dobson, Phd Candidate in Politics at The New School for Social Research (NSSR), presenting his work, “Contesting OPEC: The Lost History of Democratic Anti-Colonial Oil Conservation". Robert Vitalis, Professor of Political Science at University of Pennsylvania, will be commenting.
Registered attendees will receive the Zoom link via email.
By joining this online event, you will be prompted to accept Zoom Terms of Service. If the session is recorded, you acknowledge that by participating, your name, phone number, and profile picture might be visible to the public. You can customize your personal information when creating your Zoom account. The New School may use any recorded material from the event.
The format of the workshop is designed to generate discussion. Registered attendees will be emailed the text in advance. During the workshop, the presenter will take the first 10 minutes to summarize the main points of the text and to develop them further; the commentator will then have 15 minutes to deliver their remarks. Following that, all participants will be invited to join the discussion.Â
