Rejane Spitz is an Associate Professor at PontifÃcia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro, and Coordinator of the Laboratory of Electronic Art (LAE) in the Department of Arts and Design at PUC-Rio.
Rejane has been Visiting Scholar at the Space Sciences Laboratory, where she carried out a research project for NASA, and postdoctoral fellow in Electronic Art at CADRE Laboratory for New Media/San Jose State University. She has presented artistic works and research in exhibitions and symposia related to design, computer graphics and electronic art in South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, Finland, France, Spain, United States, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
Rejane is a member of editorial, curatorial and educational boards of several international institutions, such as ACM SIGGRAPH (US) where she serves as the Education Committee's "Global Outreach Coordinator"; LEONARDO/International Society for Art, Science and Technology (US) where she serves as a member of the International Advisory Board and as co-coordinator of the Global Crossings Project; Inter-Society for the Electronic Arts (ISEA) (England); Digital Art Museum (Germany), Sociedad Ibero-Americana de Grafica Digital, (Mexico); Design Studies Magazine (Brazil); and Brazilian Society of Information Design, among others.
