Connecting the Dots: Affordability, Big Tech, Democracy and the Future of Environmental Justice
Join us for Climate Week 2026, from September 21-28, at The New School for a series of impactful events happening throughout the week on campus.
The New School’s Tishman Environment and Design Center, continues its practice of centering what matters most during Climate Week. Not just by convening climate and environmental justice community leaders and hosting events that cross sectors, regions, and perspectives — but by connecting the critical dots on issues that impact the future of liveable communities who are simultaneously confronting the biggest challenges of our time and influencing the path to democracy.
Amid narratives of abundance, technological inevitability, and fossil fuel-dependent affordability, this Climate Week the Tishman Center uplifts community voices and scaled solutions that advance healthier environments, while simultaneously highlighting the collective power communities are harnessing to create the liveable futures they want.
Throughout the week, events across The New School will bring together community designers, innovators, and organizers from across environmental justice communities, philanthropy, academia, media, and government to spotlight solutions and provide a scalable counter to the rollback of critical environmental and climate policies.
