The Eddie Allen Quintet performs as part of the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America and The New School. The program will be preceded by a performance from a New School student ensemble.

Trumpeter Eddie Allen has led a prolific career, working with greats like Art Blakey, Randy Weston, Billy Harper, Etta Jones, and Charli Persip, while leading various ensembles of his own. This band includes Rodrigo Romero (tenor & soprano saxophones), Miki Hayama (piano), Kenny Davis (acoustic bass), and Jerome Jennings (drums).
Supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York Legislature and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and by the Howard Gilman Foundation.
