The Critical Perspectives on Democratic Anti-colonialism Project invites you to our first Fall 2021 workshop. The program brings together faculty and students across The New School interested in exploring the theoretical foundations and political manifestations of radical democratic and anti-colonial traditions.
Our first event features Carlos Forment, Associate Professor of Sociology, presenting his work, “Bolivian Immigrants and the Right to Have Rights in Buenos Aires in the Wake of Austerity: An Alter-Native Translation of Balibarianism". Udeepta Chakravarty, Sociology PhD student, will be commenting.
The format is designed to generate discussion. After you register, we will send you the text in advance. During the session, the presenter will take the first 10 minutes to summarize the main points of the text or to develop them further; the commentator will then have 15 minutes to deliver their remarks. Following them, we will invite all the participants to join the discussion.Â
