Have you ever wondered what it takes to write an honest personal narrative? Join us for a seminar with Joyce Maynard, the bestselling author of AT HOME IN THE WORLD, a landmark memoir that broke a silence concerning her relationship with the notoriously reclusive J.D. Salinger of THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. This memoir “is not a story of devastation or regret… it is about redemption and triumph, and the wisdom acquired when at long last a woman embraces the disquieting truths of her history.”
Register to participate. Readings will be distributed in advance of the workshop.

Maynard began publishing her stories in magazines when she was thirteen years old. She first came to national attention with the publication of her New York Times cover story, “An Eighteen Year Old Looks Back on Life”, in 1972, when she was a freshman at Yale. Since then, she has been a reporter and columnist for The New York Times and a regular contributor to NPR and several national magazines, including Vogue.
Maynard is the author of seventeen books. Her novel TO DIE FOR was adapted for the screen by Buck Henry for a film directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Nicole Kidman. Her novel LABOR DAY was adapted by Jason Reitman for a film starring Kate Winslet.
