As part of the ULEC "War in Ukraine: History, Politics, Culture" Prof. Jessica Pisano is hosting Professor Anatoliy Babichev, Vice-President of Kharkiv Karazin National University for a conversation online, July 5 at 10 am ET.
Dr. Babichev is a former deputy head of Kharkiv regional administration and also currently serves as a member of Kharkiv city council. Dr. Babichev will talk about the university and the experience of the university community during Russia’s full-scale war, which has included daily bombardment of Kharkiv and destruction of campus buildings. How are university leaders continuing to serve students and faculty? What challenges lie ahead for the people of Kharkiv, including its many international students? How will the university and city rebuild?
