Congratulations and Welcome to the Schools of Public Engagement!
Participation in Orientation Week is important to your successful entry into the Schools of Public Engagement (SPE) and The New School. These on campus sessions provide you with the opportunity to learn about your program and give you the chance to meet faculty, staff, and fellow students. University-wide orientation events are also happening throughout the week, so make sure to attend those as well.
The 2022 New School Orientation will take place from August 22 - August 26. During Orientation you will meet fellow students, and be fully welcomed to your department, your college, and The New School. We can't wait to meet you!
In the coming weeks, you will receive information via your New School email about mandatory and optional events, key dates, and to-dos.
To register to attend Orientation, first visit The New School Orientation hub (use your @newschool.edu email address). Once you have registered for Orientation, return to this page to consult the schedule for your program. Please note that some individual sessions require additional registration.

What is the difference between university-wide events, division-specific events, and program-specific events?
We're so glad you asked! At The New School, you're not just a part of your own individual division or school. You have all the resources of the entire university at your fingertips.
SPE Orientation events are for SPE students only.
University-wide events during General Orientation offer sessions on getting involved, campus resources, and social activities that are open to all students regardless of your college or major. Those are optional.
For questions about your general Orientation Experience, university-wide sessions, and other general questions, please email orientation@newschool.edu.
For questions that pertain to your program of study, including SPE-specific questions, registration, and meetings with faculty, please contact nspestudentaffairs@newschool.edu.
